Hispanic Ministry
MSPC has recently become home to a “nesting” bi-lingual Hispanic church. The church, Church of God Holy Ground, was begun by Rev. Elvin Sanchez and his wife in their home, but they quickly outgrew their living room. Their search for a larger place to worship led them to MSPC. The Session (the ruling Board of Elders) of MSPC invited this new church to worship in our historic Old Sanctuary until the Lord provides them with a permanent home of their own.
We consider it a great privilege to share our facilities with another group of Christians, recognizing that the Lord gave us our facility to further the work of His kingdom no matter what language is spoken. We greatly anticipate not only sharing space with our Latino brothers and sisters, but also fellowshipping and doing mission work together. The Spanish congregation has been invited to join us every Sunday after service for our Sunday Meal and After-Church programs; and Pastor Jeff has invited Church of God Holy Ground to join MSPC in our on-going mission in Togo, West Africa. We look forward with great anticipation and joy to getting to know one another even better.
Although we have different traditions and languages, we share a deep love for Jesus, and for sharing the message of His love with a lost and broken world. God has brought us together for a reason, and we look forward to His revelation of that wonderful purpose. May the Lord bless our association!
