As one of the 5 purposes of our church, Mission work is a labor of love that we here at Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church value highly. Our Missions team has made several trips to our sister church in Togo, West Africa and our Outreach Committee continues to further our instruction to "Go and make disciples" both near and far. We view the word "mission" to mean "helping others outside of the church" while ministry generally pertains to church members. With this in mind, we have made it our goal to serve the Lord's helpers by finding people doing His work and aiding them in whatever way necessary, whether they are serving the Middle East or the Bushkill Outreach, our local food pantry. MSPC is proud to have an adopted chaplain currently stationed in Iraq that we send weekly care packages to. Additionally, we have funded a small walk-in clinic in a rural area of the Appalachian Mountains. Our local Presbyterian camp, Camp Brainerd, as well as The Angel's Closet are both based here in Monroe County and serve the children of surrounding towns. Several of our church members have either started a ministry of their own or joined one they felt called to work with and we are blessed to share the wealth that the Lord has brought to us with them; in particular, the Life Exchange, Ex-Offender's Re-Entry Program and MSPC Helping Hands. The Missions team and the Outreach Committee are always open to suggestions and volunteers. We welcome you to join us at our next meeting!
