The Need On any given day almost 75 percent of Monroe County Correctional Facility's inmates claim a church affiliation. Yet many struggle when they are realeased back into society and often return to an environment that got them incarcerated in the first place. Without spiritual, emotional and practical support, they sometimes find themselves back behind bars The Call God has called a group of clergy and lay people in Monroe County to reach out to ex-offenders in the community who are serious about turning their lives around. An Ex-Offender Re-Entry Task Force was formed out of the Monroe County Clergy Association to create a ministry that would meet the needs of men and women coming out of prison. The Mission This task force gave birth to the Ex-Offender Re-Entry Program of Monroe County, Inc. Our mission is to recruit, assist and equip people, families and resources within Monroe County to transition those ex-offenders who want to stay out of prison to effectively re-enter the community.
